Car, Deer, Speechless

Today is Smoke-free Day 118.

I don't have much to say other than that I am safe, Tom is safe, his car is totaled, the deer is dead, and I'm not in the mood to say much else.

  1. Oh, wow! So, sorry! Glad to hear you and Tom are ok! We'll be here when and if you want to talk. Take care!

  2. OMG -- I totally agree with Tasina. BIG hug. By the way ... OK, I just have to say this because I live in Tennessee and we got *such* a load of crap from the late-night hosts when they passed the law. But. The "road kill" law? We passed that *just* because if you hit a deer, it totals your car, and then you're penniless. So at least now we get to keep the meat! ROFL!!!

Ahem. Sorry. Totally tasteless, but this is the way my brain works. I hope you all recover someday soon!!!

  3. Sorry to hear about the accident. I hope everyone continues to be okay.
As for the car, although it's unfortunate, it's just a car and not your life or that of someone you love. The car can be replaced.

Well wishes and a big HUG!

  4. Oh my goodness Maggie!!! [[[hugs]]]

I'm so glad that you and Tom are okay!

I use to live in Michigan and hitting deer was something that everybody did at least once in a lifetime. Sorry bout your car, but glad no one got hurt.

    Take care!

  5. Thanks, everyone! Yep, crazy, but we are safe, so that's a very good thing.

Bay, I wondered about the waste because I'm sure someone could have used the meat (someone other than me...).

  6. omg, this is scary. I almost died once because of a stupid deer. He (or she) was just there, in the middle of my lane, right past the tip of a hill, so I couldn't see until it was almost too late (and I was going 80). It was just there...looking at me. Sometimes I feel it wasn't really a deer looking....those eyes I will never forget.
Can you get a new car?

  7. Yep, Stan, very scary. We were on a suburban road and totally wouldn't have expected it. Unfortunately another car is not an option at this point, but we will be creative and make do with the other car we, thankfully, do have.

  8. Sorry to hear about your accident. When I hit a deer, it was covered under my comp. insurance, not collision, because hitting a deer was considered an "Act of God." Just thought I'd let you know in case you had comp.

  9. Thank you, Anonymous. Unfortunately, no comprehensive, either...
