A Whole Season

Today is Smoke-free Day 106, and today marks 15 weeks since I woke up all done smoking on Chantix Day 13 (some things take me longer than others).

Looking at the calendar to count back the number of weeks, I was amazed to realize that I actually went an entire calendar season, Summer, without smoking. I quit on June 18, 2007, and summer started 3 days later. Turns out that while I was not paying attention last weekend, back on September 23rd, Autumn had begun. I knew I'd waxed a bit cozy poetic about feeling autumn in the air, but I didn't realize it had already happened already. And so it had. Which means I went an entire season smoke-free. I suppose to some it's silly or just not interesting to count things the way I do, but this works for me, and as much as I smoked, and as much as I loved smoking, it really amazes me to see each of the one day at a times, each just until bedtime, add up into days, weeks, months and now a full season. Winter cozy inside instead of smoking outside will be a good thing, too.

I had more to say before I got distracted on the season thing, but I guess it will keep until next post ;)

Here is someone else having success with Chantix that I've added to the links on the side and will be adding to my list of Linky Loos shortly:

  1. Maggie, you have a wonderful way of looking at things and I find it lovely not silly.

I think it's amazing that you have made it a whole season! Wow!

Enjoy breathing in that fall air, you deserve it! :)

  2. Thanks, Sue! I found it pretty darn cool, too :)
