Haiku Friday 1/25/08

Haiku Friday

俳句の金曜日

Today is smoke-free
day two-two-two (222), and I'm not
pissed off about it.

I helped the Chantix
to help me be where I am -
modern science rocks.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

(If you've read between
the lines of late then you know
my future brings hope.)

Even small hope is
mighty powerful and can
replace those big fears.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

In Tulsa I met
fabulous new food place friends
that I miss dearly:

Whataburger, yes,
you're my wonderful new friend
biscuit, gravy, joy

Braum's Ice Cream (and more!!):
joyful mystery fresh milk
that just has no smell

The Coffee House on
Cherry Street is plain heaven
in Midtown Tulsa

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Every Friday
I wake up the happiest
of any weekday.

If only weekends
lasted forever but still
paid the bills.

Cats on laps and naps
mid-movie because it's just
too super cozy.

Alas, Monday comes
sneaking coldly into life
but it's not here yet!

  1. I am so glad that you are such a success with quitting smoking. It really gives me hope for other loved ones in my life that still light up. I pray they quit, soon!

Great haiku. I'd suffer the allergy of cats to sit with you!! Or I'd just fall asleep after taking Benedetto. LOL

  4. It's funny cause a couple of the food places you mentioned are actually Texas chains (you know us Texans gotta set you straight!) esp. the Whataburger. From Victoria, Tx. Way down south! And, Braums I believe is from Waco. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip!

  5. Thank goodness you are such an excellent quiter! Contratulations on the 2-2-2.

Thanks for the visit. Glad you had a good time in Tulsa.

FYI, not all sevice in Seattle blows (unless you mean downtown Seattle). You have to know where to go!

I've always loved the view of Mt. Hood from the air. I think it's prettier than Rainier!

  7. Thanks, Secret Agent Mama. I'd sit by you, too!

Brandie, I'm just copycatting, but it's fun!

Thanks, Kathryn. I'm figuring out how to extend weekends, but no luck.

Anglophile, you are correct! I just met the loves in Tulsa and they never made it far enough north to Oregon. More reasons to *love* Texas (and I do).

Asthmagirl, so true about downtown Seattle. We spend an entire weekend making bets about whether we'd see any good service and laughed every time we didn't. Outside of downtown, service does seem better.

Jenni, thanks, and hoping you have a great weekend!
