Haiku Friday 2/1/08

Haiku Friday

俳句の金曜日

I'm smoke-free and it's
two hundred twenty-nine days,
loving my new life

The route I took was
the Chantix route, but really
any route is good

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Friday Haiku*
is an opportunity
for me to be vague.
(*technically 3 syllables in the word "ha-i-ku," I promise - it's a Japanese syllable thing...)

It's not that I want
to be particularly
vague, but I have to...

And so now I say
so publicly what's
on my mind right now.

Set into motion
our finest plans have been made,
taking the leap soon.

Two hearts together,
splitting apart - sacrifice.
Then more whole later.

The times will be tough
but in the end it will be
worth it, we so hope.

I will miss him so -
I'm sad just thinking, dreading,
but also hoping.

Still racking my brain
wishing for another way
where there is not one.

I realize that
a military wife's heart
aches much more than mine.

Perspective is good:
comparatively our road's
easier to walk.

  7. Maggie, the longest my husband and I have spent apart was 19 months (military) and we did this more than once in a 30 year military career. You are already an amazing woman but you will gain strengths you never before thought possible.
You can do this and you will both grow.
You've been there for me through all this quit shit so I'm there for you!
