Senseless

Haiku Friday

I don't really know what else to say here, so relatively close to home, the Northern Illinois University shooting. I was accepted there a hundred years ago but chose another school. The same for my nephew, except he would have been attending right now, as he reminded me while we watched the local news unfold. I'm not even sure I have the words.

Our hearts are heavy;
we'll never understand such
senselessness loss of life.

My thoughts with all those
whose lives will not be the same -
I can't imagine.

  2. Maggie,
    Aside from this tradegy, I hope your trip is going well. I am telling you, massive amounts of people are losing their minds! What happened is so senseless and cruel! I am just hoping people start feeling more hopeful and we see less violence.
    Peace,
    Diva

  3. I don't understand all of this killing. What is happening to this world?

    I am so glad that your nephew was not at the campus that this occurred. Still, too close.

    My heart is with those who are lost and their families.

  7. My heart goes out to all involved. It's my heartfelt belief that when the media stops devoting so much time to those who commit such atrocities and more to those who's lives are lost and shattered, I suspect we'll have fewer incidences of violence like this in our society. Thanks for the lovely tribute this morning.
    Hugs and blessings to all,
