Thursday Thirteen 4/3/08

Thirteen Things on My List for the Weekend
After a Very Exceptionally Long and Very Unending Week
  1. Friday, Burgerville - Pepper Bacon Tillamook Cheeseburger. BVille is kind of an Oregon/Washington thing that I don't entirely understand (because it's overpriced, some items taste more like Burger-Vile, yet people here are devoted), but the Pepper Bacon Tillamook Cheeseburger and I do understand each other quite well because it involves Tillamook Cheese (mmm, nummy), and I so totally deserve one because I've been eating right all week long (yummy and healthy stuff like the easy Curried Chick Peas and Black Beans) and need to offset some of that healthy in case my body is overwhelmed and confused (like my brain cage has been. gah.)
  2. Friday, Starbucks, more of the delectable Honey Latte because I'm super sweet. When I'm not busy being a raving bitch. And because I haven't had one since last week even if it was instant addiction. Anyway, honey resets the balance and makes me docile again. Just trust. And bring me a latte.
  3. Saturday, an hour long massage because I've actually been doing stuff like a meet and greet with the elliptical machine in the fitness room at the apartment complex and still do ball stuff most nights. Oh, and because the massage place is convinced that I still have 3.5 paid hours remaining, even though I gave them two chances to get it right that I really don't. I tried. Now my parts hurt and need to be oiled up and rubbed, and I'm tired of trying to set them right.
  4. Throughout the weekend, finish ER Season Three. Though I'm trying really hard not to because Season Four is the last one I own, and my birthday is still a few weeks out, and I'm not sure how closely people are sticking to my wishlist that includes the next several seasons. I'm skating on the edge here.
  5. Saturday and Sunday mornings, sleep. Really late. Or get up early. But only because I feel like it.
  6. All weekend long, not do one damn thing that I don't damn well feel like doing, including anything on this list. The latte is safe. Burger, too.
  7. Whichever day the spirit moves me (or whichever day it doesn't rain in Oregon), drive somewhere pretty and take pictures.
  8. Whatever day 7 happens to be, stand somewhere beautiful and breathe in nice full deep breaths simply because it's spring and because I can now that I'm not poisoning myself by smoking. Today is smoke-free day 291, and I still appreciate the simple act of breathing all the way into the next level of lung. Thank you fellow quitter blogger people. And Chantix.
  9. Most parts of the weekend, go ahead and continue doing the eating better and exercising thing that I've started. I deserve the Pepper Bacon Tillamook Cheeseburger one night, but I also deserve to treat myself right by taking care of the only me I ever get to be. I'm totally worth the effort.
  10. One of those nights, a glass of wine and a nice hot bath. With bubbles.
  11. Somewhere in there a good long chat ranging from important to silly with my long distance love because it's been such a crazy week of quick text messages and quick calls, but connecting with my Tom also resets my balance and is sometimes even better than a Honey Latte (shhhh, don't tell).
  12. All weekend long, cats on the lap. They miss Tom, I think, and it makes them come sit by me without being bribed with treats (cat version of unconditional love).
  13. Starting right at 5PM Friday, leaving work at work. Some people find this difficult to do. Guess I was born lucky.
Now I just need to make it to the weekend. Is it Friday yet?

  3. Sounds like you have a great weekend ahead of you. I totally agree with leaving work at work -- I refuse to let it infiltrate my home life.

Congrats on the eating healthier and excercising thing -- you should join Trim Up Tuesday :P

    Enjoy yourself this weekend!

  6. Sounds like a good plan to me! I love Tillamook cheese.

Oh, and thanks for mentioning Hell's Kitchen yesterday...I didn't realize it was on again, and my kids and I were able to watch it on "Fox on Demand" on Fox.com. I was so disappointed though, that that sad SAHdad was the first to go. I would have picked the black Gordon Ramsay to go home myself...

  7. It's funny as my wife and I are stuck at the same place with ER and I know we own season 4 too. We have purchased and watched all 10 seasons of Friends, all 3 of Grey's Anatomy, and I bought us the first 2 seasons of Lost to get her caught up.

For some reason we stopped early in ER s. 3 but will someday buy and rewatch them all. We still watch the reruns on TNT when home together.

As for my weekend, I'm home all week recovering from the flu, so that is my continued plan.

  8. Great list & leaving work at work should be first on your list!!!! :) I love Bugerville and so does my partner. Whenever we leave Seattle and head down the I-5 corridor we have to stop at the first Burgerville (Chehalis) and have double beef cheeseburgers. Happy TT and thanks for stopping by.

  10. One more day one more day one more day. Someday we're going to hang out on a weekend. Within...what? 5 years? Or maybe lucky 7? How's that sound? I fully expect you to bring all the coffee!
