I recently received this awesome Arte y Pico award from MamaFlo, and I'm delighted to pass it along to a few of my favorites, some I've been reading for a long time and some that are new. Each of these inspire me in different ways.
Fond of Snape - Janet is an amazing photographer who also sometimes takes pictures of food, and we know how I feel about pictures of food. Creativity simply oozes from her photography.
Seeking Sanity - Kathryn's kind spirit is contagious in the best possible way. She so clearly appreciates her family, and I find it so refreshing. She "gets it," and I always leave there feeling a sense of peace that there are good people in the world raising kids to be good people, too.
Baby Tea Leaves - Christie is so very much fun and is another one of those who is just good people. She is straightforward but funny, kind, warm and entertaining all at once. The Peeps photography series is a riot and is what first caught my eye. Who thinks of something so fun like that? Plus, Christie is so inspiring because she sets some pretty big goals for herself, like doing the Couch to 5k, and then makes them happen all right there while you read and cheer along with her. If you are looking for motivation to lose some weight, you are just in time to join her Summer of Me contest, complete with prizes.
Secret Agent Mama and Mishelle Lane's Photography - I'm going two for one here since both blogs belong to Mishi, and she is the definition of creativity, whether in haiku or photography or 100 words. No matter what, Mishi always brings it. The self-portraits from the mailbox are my recent favorites that left me (nearly, close as I'll ever get to) speechless. Plus you know that her kids are well-behaved (even if she hasn't said so, you can tell).
Vixen's Den - Vixen is new to me, as in within just the past few weeks, but I am blown away by her creative talent and honesty. From photography to haiku and general musings, Vixen has become a new favorite of mine. She takes difficulties and works on sorting them out in a beautiful way with an online audience in a way that I've rarely seen because she's not quite whining and not quite calling things that aren't OK wonderful, but something hopeful in between there that seems a perfect balance.
