Today is smoke-free day 421, and I'm still counting. Also, my nephew will be arriving from my original home of Chicago tomorrow, so this will likely be a very busy and fun-filled week with hit or miss posting but eventually lots of pictures. We have much planned - the beautiful Oregon coast (including a few lighthouses!), the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge (including lots of waterfalls!), the awesome vibe of downtown Portland (including the nearby International Rose Test Garden and Japanese Gardens - totally the real deal, those) and general hanging out together. I'll be stretching my culinary repertoire and going all vegetarian, and he'll be trying all kinds of stuff beyond the typical bread, pasta and fries version of being a vegetarian (though those will also make an appearance, no question).
So, yah, I might be here a lot to share stories with pictures or maybe not at all if I'm too pooped to boogie or blog.
Of course, the next installment of the ongoing haiku will be posted on Friday, so if you are one that is interested (and I can't tell you how much your comments have meant - thank you!), no worries. If you haven't been reading it but are so inclined, you can catch up while I'm (maybe, maybe not entirely) gone:
I planned ahead enough that Part Three is already written, so now I just need to plan ahead enough to squeeze all the activity and vegetarian recipes I'm dying to try into the limited number of days that I get to hang out with my nephew, and that kind of tight planning is actually oddly more difficult than baring my soul in the confines of 5-7-5 verse.
