Perspectives on Politics & Pizza

While I generally have zero desire to get too political over here (I'll do it elsewhere, though), I saw this Political Profile quiz over at Julie's, and I found this to be kind of fun, kind of interesting and perhaps even kind of accurate, sort of, but not quite entirely. I consider myself a moderate, but I'm not even sure that's the right term when I have ridiculously strong opinions on a few topics that completely cross party lines. In fact, last election was a real head-splitter for me all the way up until the bitter end about a day before the election. This election seems so much more cut and dry for me that I'm kind of puzzled by those still undecided, just as some were so puzzled watching me spin my wheels four years ago and wanted to throw sharp items at my dull head.

Innywho, apparently I'm about 50/50 overall according to the quiz but then lean a little right in some areas and a little left in others. Care to share your results? (If not, it's cool, no pressure - maybe just do the quickie pizza quiz instead?)
Your Political Profile:
Overall: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal

Social Issues: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal

Personal Responsibility: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal

Fiscal Issues: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal

Ethics: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal

Defense and Crime: 100% Conservative, 0% Liberal

How Liberal Or Conservative Are You?

The quiz people kind of got it about right, I think, too, on the pizza quiz. I do happen to like squid on pizza. Just not so much corn like in Japan. Or mayonnaise. Gah.
Your Pizza Says:
You have wacky, offbeat taste in food. You're very adventurous.

You're the type most likely to try food on a dare.

Pizza Topping You Should Try: Squid

Stay away from: Any topping combination you've had already

The Pizza Test

OK, so share your perspective, either your political perspective or pizza perspective. Or both. Then please email me a slice of pizza (hold the tuna). And a napkin. No chopsticks needed.

  2. Okay - some of the questions in the political survey were pretty wacked. As in I wouldn't pick EITHER answer, but had to choose one. Several were downright skewed towards the liberal no matter which answer you picked. Like:

    If you smoke marijuana...
a - You should be punished with a slap on the wrist or
    b - It's your business

Those are both pretty liberal in my book. Not that I think they should toss you in the penn and throw away the key...

Which probably explains the skewed Ethics scoring, cause I pretty much consider myself a conservative.

    Anyhoo - my results:

    Overall: 65% Conservative, 35% Liberal

Social Issues: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal

Personal Responsibility: 100% Conservative, 0% Liberal

Fiscal Issues: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal

    Ethics: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal

Defense and Crime: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal

Hmm, the pizza one? Well, I'm on dial-up, so don't download full versions of pics - so sometimes they are rather cloudy. So I picked what I recognized - which I think was pepperoni - so I'm apparently very boring and stick to what I know in foods. So NOT true - I ate things in Korea, Japan, Hong Kong & Portugal that I STILL don't know what they were!

  4. My results were rather surprising as well. Certainly not what I expected!

    Ethics: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal

Pretty much what I knew and expected. I've always been liberal about everything but crime and the death penalty

The pizza one wasn't quite as accurate.

  9. Hmmm, not sure how I feel about my results:

    Overall: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal

Social Issues: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal

Personal Responsibility: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal

Fiscal Issues: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal

    Ethics: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal

Defense and Crime: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal

Also, I apparently should stick to 'old-fashioned' pizza. Which means you can keep all the squid.
