What BFF Means to Me

A longtime friendship
withstands more differences
than if we'd met now.

A longtime friendship
means shorthand references
to the long stories.

A longtime friendship
is a piece of who I was
mirrored into now.

A longtime friendship
of darn close to thirty years (!)
awes my graying head.

A longtime friendship
feels like another safe place
that I can call "home."

A longtime friendship
makes me glad that we caught up
in four wee hours.

A longtime friendship
is something I hope we make
even more longtime.

I love you, my friend,
for who you were back then and
who you've become now.

What a beautiful piece for a beautiful friendship. I just spoke to my BFF last night for 2 hours and this reminds me so much of her :)

  5. Now that is a beautiful and refreshing relationship. Some times I think BFF is used a little too freely. I hope your friendship continues for you.

  8. I think true friendship can be almost as awesome as marriage. It certainly takes work and needs to be cared for just like a spouse. An incredible thing to have had a friend for so long. Merry Christmas. :)
