Haiku Friday 1/2/09

Haiku Friday
俳句の金曜日

Hello brand new year
with your shower fresh feeling
smelling clean and new.

Hello brand new year
with your first cup of coffee
tasting bold and strong.

Hello brand new year
with your daily sunrise eye
looking hopefully.

Hello brand new year
with your (way too) early birds
sounding so chipper.

Hello brand new year
with your chilly morning air
feeling crisp and sharp.

Hello brand new year
with your virgin calendar
each day starts anew.

  2. Actually, the New Year is no longer 'virgin'.

    Lovely Haiku, as always.

  3. A wonderful way to greet the new year.

I like looking a the calendar and it being all neat and clean. It won't last long though, I just thought of several things that need to be written on it. Hair appointments, teeth cleanings, vacation --- yep, already cluttered. :)
